Big-Ticket Nursery & Sleep (Babies 0–12 Months)
GREENGUARD Gold Dual-Stage Crib Mattress
Polyurethane + vinyl mattresses · Check today's price
Firm infant side, softer toddler side
GREENGUARD Gold
Why we picked it: GREENGUARD Gold certification means the product passed strict limits on chemical emissions (VOCs) for indoor air, and a firm infant side matches AAP guidance for a firm, flat sleep surface.
HEPA Air Purifier for Nursery
Plug-in air fresheners · Check today's price
Quiet sleep mode
True HEPA
Why we picked it: True HEPA filters are defined as capturing at least 99.97% of particles 0.3 microns in size, so they cut dust and pollen without adding fragrance to the air the way plug-in fresheners do.
Wooden Baby Play Gym
Battery-powered plastic activity gyms with music and lights · Check today's price
A simple A-frame with a few hanging toys gives babies something to look at, bat at, and grasp. They build hand-eye coordination without the overstimulation of lights and sounds.
Wooden frame, swappable hanging toys, folds flat
Why we picked it: Simple hanging toys give babies something to look at, bat, and grasp, which builds hand-eye coordination without lights or sounds doing the work.
Non-Toxic Foam Baby Play Mat
PVC vinyl & EVA interlocking foam tiles · Check today's price
A one-piece, wipe-clean cushioned mat with no seams for crumbs to collect in. It softens hard floors for tummy time, rolling, and those first wobbly falls.
Wipeable surface, thick cushioning, rug-style designs that blend in
Why we picked it: A one-piece mat has no seams for crumbs and spills to collect in, and it avoids PVC vinyl and the small, chewable edges of foam puzzle tiles.
Big Gifts for Toddlers (Ages 1–3)
Screen-Free Audio Players & Story Cards
Tablets and YouTube for stories · Check today's price
Kids choose a story, song, or podcast by placing a character or inserting a card. No screen, no ads, and your toddler can run it themselves.
Kid-proof speaker, cards or figurines, parental volume control
Why we picked it: Kids get to choose their own stories and songs without a screen, ads, or autoplay, and the parent controls set a volume cap.
Wooden Play Kitchen
Plastic electronic play kitchens · Check today's price
A sturdy wooden kitchen at toddler height with a sink, stove, and storage invites hours of cooking, washing, and serving pretend meals.
Wooden construction, child-height counters, storage cabinets
Why we picked it: Pretend cooking builds language, sequencing, and social skills as kids copy everyday routines, and a solid wooden kitchen lasts for years and siblings.
Indoor Climbers & Active Play Gyms
Bouncing on the couch and screens · Check today's price
Pikler-style climbers, slides, and balance boards give toddlers a safe place to climb and move when it's too cold to go outside.
Solid wood, foldable or convertible designs, published weight limits
Why we picked it: Climbing builds strength, balance, and body awareness; we look for published weight limits so you know the frame's rated capacity. Always supervise climbing.
Toddler Kitchen Helper Towers
Toddlers on wobbly chairs at the counter · Check today's price
A sturdy tower with side rails brings toddlers safely up to counter height for holiday baking, washing veggies, and stirring. It's real practical life work.
Wood with rails, adjustable platform, some fold flat
Why we picked it: Side rails on all sides help keep toddlers from stepping off the edge, which is the main risk of standing on a regular chair or stool at the counter.
Big Gifts for Preschoolers (Ages 3–5)
Big Magnetic & Block Building Sets
Plastic building sets with single-use builds · Check today's price
Larger tile and block sets let preschoolers build castles, rockets, and whole towns. Classic wooden unit blocks teach balance, symmetry, and early math.
50–100+ pieces, sealed magnets or solid wood blocks
Why we picked it: Large open-ended sets build spatial reasoning and early math concepts like balance and symmetry, and they can be rebuilt differently every time.
Magnetic Tile Gift Sets
Single-use plastic building kits · Check today's price
Magnetic tiles click together easily for little hands, so 2-year-olds can build flat shapes first and grow into towers, castles, and marble runs for years.
Sealed magnets in tile frames, 25–100 piece sets
Why we picked it: We look for magnets fully sealed inside the tile frame, because loose magnets are a serious swallowing hazard; the tiles grow from flat shapes to 3D builds.
Wooden Dollhouses & Small-World Play Sets
Plastic playsets with sound effects · Check today's price
Dollhouses, arks, farms, and animal sets invite long, quiet storytelling sessions. They are especially good for independent play while you cook dinner.
Wooden houses, arks, and animal figures
Why we picked it: Small-world play encourages language, storytelling, and perspective-taking as kids act out scenes, all with figures that don't need batteries.
Stock-Up Essentials Worth Watching
Stainless Steel Silicone Straw Cup
Polypropylene sippy cups · Check today's price
Dishwasher-safe and nearly indestructible
18/8 steel, platinum silicone
Why we picked it: 18/8 stainless steel is a food-grade alloy that resists rust and doesn't absorb flavors or odors, and platinum-cured silicone is a flexible, heat-tolerant material that doesn't rely on the plasticizers used to soften some plastics.
Plant-Based Disposable Diapers
Fragranced conventional diapers with lotion strips · Check today's price
Plant-based, fragrance-free disposables are gentle on sensitive skin and still absorb well overnight. Several brands offer subscriptions so you never run out.
Fragrance-free, plant-based materials, newborn to toddler sizes
Why we picked it: Fragrance is a common skin irritant, so fragrance-free diapers remove one of the most frequent triggers of diaper-area irritation.
How to Shop Black Friday Safely for Babies & Toddlers
- Check for recalls before you buy, especially for sleep products, car seats, high chairs and anything a baby mouths. Search the brand and model at CPSC.gov/Recalls →
- Buy from the brand or an authorized seller. On Amazon, check the 'Ships from' and 'Sold by' lines; third-party listings of popular toys can include counterfeits that skip safety testing.
- Check certifications on the brand's own site. GREENGUARD Gold, GOTS and OEKO-TEX can be looked up, and a deal listing that drops the certification wording is worth a second look.
- Skip used or open-box crib mattresses, car seats and sleep products unless you know their full history. Car seats have expiration dates and should not be used after a crash.
- For babies under 1, follow AAP safe-sleep guidance: a firm, flat mattress with a fitted sheet and nothing else in the crib, and no weighted sleep products.
- Watch for small parts and button batteries in bundles and 'deal' add-ons, and keep age grading in mind when buying for a mixed-age family.

When are Black Friday and Cyber Monday in 2026?
Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026, and Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30, 2026. Many stores start sales earlier in November, so it's worth checking prices on your list during the week of Thanksgiving.
Do you list Black Friday sale prices?
No. Deal prices change constantly and we only state prices we have checked ourselves. Each pick links to Amazon so you can check today's price, and we recommend comparing it with the brand's own site.
Is it safe to buy baby gear on Black Friday?
Yes, if you buy new items from the brand or an authorized seller, check the CPSC recall list for the exact model, and confirm certifications on the brand's site. Avoid used car seats and crib mattresses with an unknown history.
Which items are worth waiting for a sale?
Bigger purchases such as crib mattresses, air purifiers, play gyms, play kitchens, audio players and large magnetic tile sets are the ones where a sale makes the biggest difference. Smaller everyday items are fine to buy whenever you need them.
